K/R Green Jeans! and Moto Jacket

First of all, my lighting is bad. These jeans are a vibrant bright kelly green. They're almost identical to my red ones (except that the quality is lower and the denim thinner). What do you think? Do they fit properly? Do I get to keep them?

And this Moto. I'd call it a taupe-ish? It's silvery shiny fake leather, and wrinkled (on purpose - so RATE). Does it fit right? I'd wear it open. Do you think it would go with my other clothes? Is it edgy - I think my perfect moto should be? I'm really iffy on this one, and just not sure what I think. I don't really want to add it to my wardrobe if it's not a 10 or darn close. And I'm honestly confused on this one. I like it, but is it great, or just okay?

#1 Green jeans.
#2 Silver/Taupe RATE Moto jacket

    Perfect for St. Paddy's day!

I like the skinnies, although there's a little wrinkling due to the lighter denim. Not a deal breaker for me. You could wear a size down, probably, particularly is they stretch while wearing. Love the silhouette, absolutely!

As for the moto, I think it's a good fit and its both playful and a little edgy. Will the lack of breathability be a problem for you (do you run warm)? Will the color be as versatile as a traditional brown or black moto? Does that matter to you? Will this jacket go nicely with three or four outfits in your current wardrobe?

Finally, and what's most important -- what's your happiness factor?

I like how the green jeans fit. They look great on you. And they are long enough! (Don't put them in the dryer.) The lighter weight could be nice in summer, if you wear long pants then.

I like the color of the moto and think it could be useful. However the way the fabric pooches out over the waistband is not flattering to my eye and gives the appearance of rolls where there are none. I would look for a moto without a band for a slim and smooth appearance. But look for taupe again!

Honestly, I vote return on both. You wear pants so well and these are just not good enough for you. I think you can do better on the moto as well. Sorry to be such a naysayer:-(

I vote return on the moto. you will need to zip it up when in a wind or chill and it is pulling across the bust. You deserve 10!

I love the fit and colour of the jeans. But I'm not sold on the jacket. It just doesn't look as special as I want it to for you. Also, of you don't mind me saying I think I prefer a lapel rather than the traditional moto neckline on you, but that's just me.

  • Thistle replied 11 years ago

Like the fit and color of the jeans. You really rock jeans! I struggle mightily with jeans, and I see you regularly trying on ones that you rock! You have really found your brand, style or both.

I would return the jacket. I is not good enough for you. The fit isn't quite right, and I don't know if you run hot or not, but this ll amplify it if you do. This could just be my bias. I can't do pleather at all. Leather, no problem, but something about pleather makes me sooooo uncomfortable.

I think the fit on the jeans is fine, and I like the color. The jacket looks OK when opened, but when closed, it pulls across the top. I would return that, because even though you say you'll wear it open, there will be times when you'll be cold and need to zip it.

I'm not sure about the jeans. I love the idea, and I love you in jeans. But for me, that wrinkling that comes with thinner fabrics isn't appealing.

As for the jacket, on my monitor it looks silvery grey! I think it's betwixt and between....not sure if it wants to be an indoor or outdoor jacket. I think the fit is a bit off, as well. Too bad, because I understand the appeal. I tried on one of these metallic jackets too, and the forum told me it wasn't right for me, either..... :-(

Actually, I should be making a happy face, because the forum was right...

I think the jeans are nice too although I don't have the eye others do. The moto isn't fab enough for you and I echo Adelfa about the band along the bottom.

  • amiable replied 11 years ago

Okay - thank you all for your wisdom. You've helped me realize that I want a moto without a bottom band (or, if it does have one, that it hits at a different spot). I already have brown and black leather jackets (you haven't seen the black yet, I'll try to post it soon), so I don't mind the color of the moto - though I think I'd like black better. I run super chilly, so would probably wear a moto all summer. (If it's under 75, I'm generally shivering and wearing a jacket).

As for the jeans - I'm iffy on them now (I'd been thinking keep). Thanks for pointing out the wrinkling - I didn't notice it, and I'm not sure whether or not that'll bother me. The thinner denim will be perfect for summer for me (when it's over 100 F, I'll wear a skirt or shorts happily, but until then, it's capris and pants).

Thanks for helping me out :)

So you run cold, like Angie? That's helpful to know. I think that influences some of our choices, particularly with jackets and sweaters.

Can't wait to see you black jacket!

  • harmonica replied 11 years ago

Late to comment, but just wanted to say that I agree with your decision. So good to get second opinions from others to keep oneself on track, isn't it? :-) Can't wait to see the black moto.

I see no issues with the jeans, I vote keep.  Especially if you like the thinner fabric.  I think the sizing is right.

I'm not as sold on the moto however.
  • Tina.b replied 11 years ago
I really like the jeans on you (you were made to wear jeans with your long legs!). I like to have lighter weight jeans also because I wear them in the summer. I think they will be very useful for you and the colour is fab.

The jacket I'm neutral on. It looks OK, but the shape isn't the most flattering and I'm wishing it draped a little more naturally.
  • Tanya replied 11 years ago
I personally do not mind wrinkling on jeans, and I really like these on you, so I vote keep.  The jacket is so-so:  i love the idea, but the fit is not ideal.
  • Jjsloane replied 11 years ago
I like the jeans, I like that they are not skintight and you've had so much fun with your red ones it's time for another color in your crayon box. The jacket is not a great flattering color (on anyone) and it is too tight when closed. I vote return that one.
  • amiable replied 11 years ago
Thank you all!  Yes - I do think I'll keep the green jeans, and definitely return the moto jacket.  PPP!

And wow!  Isn't this new design great?!  Off to explore the rest of the new site!

Jeans are great.  I think you are right about the elastic band on the bottom of the jacket.  Just reminded me of a "Members only" jacket.  Not good.
