K/R Mesh sweater

I tossed in this mesh sweater the other day with a jeans-to-try-on order from Old Navy.  None of the jeans work, but perhaps the sweater does?
It's peachy-pinky, and smaller than I expected (I expected it to fit more oversized than this).   But I think it probably fits well.

What are your thoughts on the fit, the color, and the item as a Spring wardrobe item?

(Pics are taken with a pink camisole underneath)

Gorgeous color on you! I like the fit through the body. Are the sleeves too fitted, or is that just the camera angle? I get claustrophobic when sleeves feel tight.

  • amiable replied 9 years ago

Ooh - good question - the sleeves are definitely fitted.  They didn't feel too fitted to me, but I do like my sleeves narrow.  And looking at the photos makes me wonder if they'd bag out in the elbow.  That would be no fun, and probably a deal breaker.

The sleeves are a bit fitted - the color is pretty on you but I think I'd hold out for a better fit.

  • amiable replied 9 years ago

thanks Tex - I think I'll try another size up and see what I think.  (This is already one size up, oddly enough.)

  • texstyle replied 9 years ago

Amy- not sure if the body fit is off but the arms. I fear a size up might be too big in the body (too boxy).

  • Angie replied 9 years ago

Ten thumbs up. I like this size on you.

  • amiable replied 9 years ago

Well hey - I may have to give it a try then Angie.  I'll wear it around the house with tags and see if the arms/elbows bag out.  And if not, then I think I can keep it - the snugness of the arms don't bother me.  At least not yet.

Very pretty! I hope it works out and the elbows don't bag out.

I like it Amy.  Colour is good and I like the weight of the sweater.  I would love to see you pair this soft and feminine sweater with something dark and a bit edgy:)

Absolutely love this on you Amy! The color is beautiful on you and I really like the fit. I think a size up would be too big and border on sloppy. My vote is to keep.

  • Nebraskim replied 9 years ago

I like this in you in this size. And I like the fit of the jeans you're wearing. That wasn't a question, but that's my opinion. :)

This looks like exactly the right size to me, including the sleeves. I think sizing up might be moving too close to sloppy (sorry, can't think of a better way to say it) especially since it's a knit and will likely loosen up with wear anyway.
    I like the synchronized lipstick!

I like it as it is, too. Glad you're giving it a try!

I love it on you! Really brings out your gorgeous, gorgeous complexion. I also like the neckline. I find knits often ease out, so wearing it around the house sounds like a good strategy. You look beautiful!

  • Daria replied 9 years ago

Amy I agree that the sweater is the right size for you; sounds like it can be a keeper if the sleeves work out. And those jeans look awesome - can't they be your nice pair for the conference?

  • replied 9 years ago

    Thumbs up from me!

  • Missey replied 9 years ago

I love the sweater on you...very flattering!  Are those silver cowboy boots that I spy in the background?

  • amiable replied 9 years ago

Missey - you're clever!  I'm painting the cowboy boots for my conference in two weeks. I'll post a pic of them when they're done :)   And Daria these jeans are indeed slated for the conference, but it's three days, so I need possibly three pair to wear.

Those jeans look fab on you!
And the sweater does, too. :)

  • Echo replied 9 years ago

I never would have even noticed the sleeves unless someone else had mentioned it because that colour is just fantastic on you. It is really flattering and brightens up your whole face. Snug sleeves are definitely a deal breaker for me, but if they are not for you (and like I said, I never would have even noticed the sleeves on my own), then keep, keep, keep!

  • Suz replied 9 years ago

I like it, Amy! But it's a great idea to try it to see if it stretches out. I've had mesh stuff from GAP that was a horror for that.

  • Jaime replied 9 years ago

    Love it!

  • Jeanie replied 9 years ago

Gosh, I haven't seen you in a while. You look like a whole new person!! You look totally stunning! Your new hair color is gorgeous and I love the color of this sweater on you.

  • Neel replied 9 years ago

This is a lovely color on you Amy. I like the fit too :-) Hope you are keeping it!

  • amiable replied 9 years ago

I wore it with tags for several hours yesterday - the arms expanded a bit, but not to the point that made it feel sloppy.  The sleeves push up nicely and stay put.  I think it's staying :)

  • Tanya replied 9 years ago

I was going to give another "keep" vote, but I see the decision has already been made. Lovely sweater, and really like how the color plays with your hair.
