PMWIW Challenge 2: Better photos

In thinking through what to change for better photos, I was caught up in finding something that I could actually sustain (rather than put a lot of effort one day and return to old ways the next).

My main struggle with taking pics in the winter is the light.  I've been in the habit of snapping a quick pic right after breakfast.  As you can see (in pic #2), this results in pretty harsh lighting, and I have to lighten the pics.  Rather than find a new place, I decided to try a new time of day - right after lunch.  At that time, the sun is overhead, and direct light isn't shining in the windows.  I think it worked!

Neither pic was adjusted for brightness - just cropped.

(And WIW:  pic #1 black and white buffalo check under a black swingy cardigan with dark gray skinny jeans and red plaid shoes.  Pic #2 black shirt under blush sweater with black bootcuts)

Wow, what an improvement taking pictures later in the day...I might need to try that, too, as I am faced with similar bad lighting issues! Anyway, cute cute buffalo plaid, a great versatile fall piece for a MOTG!

#1 is a great MOTG outfit.  The addition of the red sneaks is fun.

I really like your blush sweater.

Oh yes, lighting is much better after lunch.  Let the WIW's roll in!  :)

Love the first outfit hard! I have major lighting issues - sun isn't even up till around 10 am! This is an improvement though!

What a difference a time change can make! Love the first outfit especially with the high contrasts and the fun sneaks!!,!

Awesome! I learnt the same thing as you ... Changing time / location when/where the natutal light is better improves the pictures greatly! My living room has way better lighting than my bedroom. Which I realized when I did the photo challenge :)

    Fun outfits!

First, nuts about #1. The plaid the sweater the cons!!!

Second, I hear you about light especially in the winter. In our house, places with the best light are awkward for photos. I have furniture there so I can bask in the light!

So much better with the light! I love #1, great casual look.
