WIW and lots of incantations

I had a hard time getting dressed today.

I started out trying to style a scarf that's puzzling me (#3). It's navy white and orange in a bold graphic pattern. So I paired it with my red jeans (of course!), a white tank top (for lack of a tee), and navy suede jacket. I didn't like the way it felt. So I didn't even put on shoes. In the pic, I feel like it looks okay - does it? (#2)

So then I went for a dress, and put my black shirt-dress over the same red skinnies. I didn't like it a whole lot either. (Tried adding a red jacket on top, but the shade was too dark for the pants). )#4 and #5)

So I tried turning the dress into a jacket, and put on a black/which gingham underneath. (#6) A little better, but a real jacket would work better. (#1)

So this is what I ended up with - the real jacket. No scarf. No dress. But at least I can join Imogen's FABuary jacket-up day! (http://www.insideoutstyleblog......lenge.html)

Look at you with the red lips! 1 and 6 look great to me, although I do like the version with the dress as a dress and #2 also. So, I guess that means I like them all - except I'm not sure about 5, but that is because I just don't know : )

I really like 1. The problem with 2 I think is too much bulk at the midsection -- is that jacket a little big?) I think the dress over the skinnies with a belt would work too!

1,4 and 6 are all winners in my mind. You can really rock those red skinnies. I'm jealous!

Oh yeah - and red lips. Mostly because I felt like putting kiss prints on my kids faces.

    :)

And Kate - I had thought of a belt, but couldn't figure out which one would work. I think I need to find some bright skinny belts maybe :)

You just keep getting cuter by the day. That flirty hair and those red lips are just adorable. #1 is perfection. I just love it.
The others or OK, but don't show off your trim little shape in the same way that #1 does.
Are you wondering how you ever got by without those red jeans and black boots?

I cannot get past #1, you look beyond fantastic! This is my favourite look for you thus far. I have all the pieces and I may steal this exact look from you. Thank you for the inspiration!

Love #1! I think #2 has potential, try it with the jacket open maybe? The combo of done up jacket and scarf feels maybe a little uptight for you. But I think your instincts were good with the pieces you chose. The scarf seems perfect for the classic orange & blue looks like Angie posted from the Barney's window and I saw similar in BR's window yesterday.

    The lipstick rocks!

I think the only one that doesn't *rock it* is #2. The scarf is natty. The tank top and jacket in #2 are RATE.

Love #1 red skinnies a check print plus jacket = fabulous.

#1 is my fave here, and I love the red lipstick - makes your eyes bright!

Thanks you all! I feel flattered!

I'm not totally convinced that the check shirt fits me properly - I guess the jacket hides it effectively :) I'll probably take in the side seams a bit to see if I can improve the fit.

    You all are the best!

Loving #1 and #6! Several of the others work, too, and I think there's a lot of value in trying everything you can think of, when you have the time!

Love the Gingham, although it's true that I can't comment on fit!

These sknnies are amazing on you.
