WIW and moto photos

A quick check in in the midst of the busy's.  Here's what I've worn in the past few days.

#1 Got this idea from the "In Style" magazine - White under cream with green jeans.  I didn't wear this very long - hubby said it didn't look very great at all.

#2 Red/Aqua and "linen".  Got this from the Pantone combos in the link-love.  I love that post - thank you!  This is about the "emerald/tomato/linen" combo.  Except my emerald is more of a deep aqua.  I got several comments on being so bright.

#3 I looked at my bright pink toe nails and liked them, so I dug through my summer clothes bin for pink, and picked out this top.  I don't think the proportions work (the sleeves are too short), so it probably won't stay around.

#4 Moto jacket opn
#5 Moto fully zipped
#6 Moto half-zipped.

The moto is a recent Goodwill purchase.  It's poly, so not breathable (which doesn't bother me since I run freezing cold).  I'm thinking this is the perfect way to try out this shape and attitude of a moto while looking for "my" style.  Who knows if I'll still like it next fall, and I don't mind if I don't.  I'm wearing it open for the most part.

My good friend from China, after seeing my stompy black moto boots one day, and this moto jacket the next, called me a cowboy.  :)

Comments and suggestions, please!  :)

I really like the silhouette of #1 on you, Ami. What did hubby not like? What about you? Do you feel washed out? I do think the shapes are terrific on you.

And the colours in #2 are so much fun. Those red jeans are your biggest wardrobe workhorse. Who would have thought it, right?

I like the colour, but not the style of the top in #3. It's too girly/ dated for you.

I am all for trying out styles first before investing. I had a plastic trench/ moto myself from our Overstocks. It worked just fine for a season and let me experiment. Enjoy!

Thanks Suz - Hubby didn't like the cream/white combo.  I asked him if it looked unintentional, he said "no, it looks intentional, it just doesn't look good at all".  I totally appreciated his honesty.

I liked #2 a lot too :)  I was surprised by the comments though they generally went "Wow, you're really bright......I like your scarf."  Haha :)

And yes, the top from #3 is out.

I really like #1, esp. the white and the cream together!  I think motos in general look better with slimmer legs to keep the moto vibe, so I like #5 & 6 better than #4 BUT I think the jacket looks better open.  It makes the jacket a bit longer, and, umm, I think the pocket zippers w/tassels end at an awkward place when the jacket is zipped up.

Huh, strange, I really like the white/cream combo! In fact, I think it's my favorite of the bunch. High five on the moto find, too. It is hard to find cropped jackets that are actually cropped, IMO. I think this one would look really killer over a dress or with a column of color!

OH Donna, your comment just made me look back at my picture, and both Hubby and me busted out laughing!  Note to self: Do NOT wear this jacket zipped!  Yikes!

Hubs thinks I should change to gold tassels.

Thanks Rae (and Donna and Suz)  I think I will wear #1 again - just not when Hubs has to be seen with me.  :)

I don't especially think this is a great bunch though.  Should the aqua sweater in #2 go?  I like the idea of it so much, but the way it actually wears seems to fall a little short.

I agree with everything  Suz said.  Maybe if it's the color of #1 that DH doesn't like, a small bright scarf might bring more color to your face.
The red and teal is my favorite color combo.  If you think the teal sweater is too short, try a longer tank or cami under it.  A shade of teal or green that blends with the sweater or even black might make a difference.

#1 is OUTstanding!  Love it!  One of my all-time favorites on you!
I think the color combination in #2 is very nice - but the scarf is throwing me off - my first thought when I looked at the pic was that I'd ditch the scarf - for me it just seems too "frothy" for the rest of the outfit.  I think the sweater is fine - I would try wearing a tomato red tank or cami underneath it and do a semi-tuck with it, along with the sweater.  It would make your legs look longer - and then the length of the sweater would not be an issue with regards to coverage around your waist area.  Great idea to play with the moto - and yes, definitely add gold tassels!

Thanks for this post. I'm finding the forum responses are offering solutions to moto+ sweater issues that are similar to mine.

My favorite look was #1, sorry hubby didn't agree.  The color combo in #2 is fabulous!   Great way to try out the moto jacket style!  i prefer it open and in fact own three of them and never wear them zipped...

I am giggling at Donna's comment about the tassle placement.  I didn't notice until I read her comment.:)

Amy I love #1.  While respecting your DH's opinion, I think the white and cream combo may just be new to him and he needs to get used to it:)

#2 looks great.  Fab colours on you.

#3/4 Im not sure. I feel the the top half looks too boxy and shapeless.

#5/6 I am sorry but now all i can see are the tassles!

I love #1! maybe DH just isn't used to seeing white and cream together? I don't think it washes you out, but if you do, try adding a scarf.
I would try a cami under #2 and see if you like the sweater better with the added length of the cami, if not, toss.
#3, the color is nice but the sleeves look dated - toss.
#4 - love this look on you!
#5 and #6 - can you remove the tassels from the zipper pulls?

You do coloured jeans so well!

Agree that #1 is the best one, sorry to your hubby but he has been outnumbered!
#2 is also great and the jacket looks good unzipped.
