WIW and volume on volume experiment

Actually, it's what I'm planning to wear tomorrow.

I'm a bit ashamed that it has no brights or whites.  *sigh*

I bought this skirt at a thrift store in L.A. - I only visited one during the entire trip.  I also bought the baggy assymetrical black top there.  But when I tried them together, I felt swallowed up by the volume - and after overeating junk food for two weeks, I don't want to visually increase my size.  So I think I'll wear the narrower tank tomorrow with this skirt.

Suggestions for improvement?

Actually, i like the second top.,,as long as you don't make a habit of standing with your arms akimbo like superman!

What a cute skirt! I like it with each of the tops and with your sandals. Maybe you can carry a white or bright bag?

I like the items! I am having a hard time seeing the whoe look in 2 b/c of your arms on your hips but I like the idea. #1 is a safe choice. Maybe some white jewelry, watch bracelet necklace and that white bag Joy mentions will bright it up for you!

Ooohhhh, great skirt!  The regular black tank is a safe choice.  I'm wondering how the second top drapes when your arms are at your side.

I'm not sure about the second look -- I'd need to see more views to know for sure whether you're "swallowed up."  Can you try some more pics later?

Love the skirt, and I think you tan and happy about your California adventure!

I love love love the second look! The first top is very expected, whereas the second looks much more fashion forward and edgy to me. Love the skirt. Wear it tomorrow:)

I like the second look -- there are some dresses at Gap right now that look like that silhouette. I think as long as you don't stand with your arms out you should be ok!

    The tank looks good too!

I like both outfits. I think you have the height to carry off the volume on volume look very well. You don't look swallowed up at all, not even nibbled :-).

You all talked me into it!  Second top it is.  More pics after I have my hair done :)  Thank you!

Glad to hear it!  I love the look of #2.

Are you planning to wear those shoes?  I am curious about how it would look with dressier shoes.

I like that 2nd top! And the skirt looks great, too.

Love the skirt and the top is unusual; like Janet I would love to see more pics, but it does indeed seem more interesting than the expected jersey top in 1. The idea of more white accessories is good. I would also love to see the asymmetric top with white jeans.

I like version #2 the best.  Great skirt, great top.
