WIW: Another nearly BWB

I think I could make a lot of outfits from the idea Black/White/Blue from earlier this week.

Here's the color scheme turned inside out. (Well, the sweater is more of a gold/cream stripe...)

This chambray is one of my very longest shirts, and it still feels just a tad short. I'm officially on the hunt for long shirts! I'm also hoping to replace the black skinnies - the rise is higher than I like, and the waist narrow. But I'll keep them until I find a replacement. The sweater is 26", but folded up to reveal more of the chambray underneath.

How does the outfit work? Suggestions for improvement?

The sweater almost looks a little big on you! I like the blue layered under a lot. This would rock with some black boots :)

I think the chambray shirt is long enough but maybe its the picture. I really like your gold/cream striped sweater.

I like it! Is the sweater very much longer than shown? I think it'll be even more carefree looking if you leave it longer and just have a peek of the chambray underneath. I also like the length of the chambray on you. The leo loafers are very fun with this outfit :)

Yeah sorry - I didn't mean to imply that the chambray was too short - just that it's definitely not overly long. I'm keeping it :) (At least until something better comes along)

If I can figure out my camera's timer and anchor it somewhere, I'll take a pic with the sweater down - it's about 3 inches longer - almost as long as the shirt.

And Kate - I know, won't it be great when I find the right pair? Have you ever tried Harley Davidson brand boots? There's a Harley store just down the road from me - I may go in and try on some of their boots....

I haven't tried them myself, but my husband has a pair he uses for his motorcycle, and they seem pretty well made. I think it is worth a try!

Harley boots are a favorite in our shop. Their workbooks are rugged, steel toed and non-slip. Pretty comfortable too.

I agree with the others. I would like this better with the sweater left down. It would look more relaxed that way.

And moto boots would be a great addition!

I like this look with the blue under the white. I like the collar, cuffs and bottom that peek out from your sweater.

Okay, I figured out my timer on my phone camera. Here's the shirt down! :)
Is it better this way? I also wore this scarf - keeping my neck warm....

I'm no longer restrained by when my kids will take pics!

  • Aida replied 11 years ago

Ooh you look fab in your specs! With the scarf, I like the sweater longer (but I did like the pushed up sleeves in the original!). Without the scarf I would say pull the sweater up just a tiny bit so there's, like, an inch or two of the chambray peeking out underneath :)

Thanks Aida! I need a measuring tape to discover what you naturally see...

  • Aida replied 11 years ago

But after a little practice it will become second nature :)

  • Angie replied 11 years ago

I like it too! Both renditions :)

What Aida said. A peek of chambray under sweater and scrunch sleeves. Harley has very good quality items. They last forever and have really good sales. I don't care for all the branding but my hubs used to buy nothing but. Have you checked out 6pm or your boots? Our western wear shop has a huge selection of reasonably priced rugged boots but I vaguely recall you've checked yours? Kudos for mastering the timer :-)

The second version with the scarf is so cute! And congrats on figuring out the timer.

Thank you Aida, I hope so! I guess I'm learning to see all sorts of things, so I'll believe you that this will come too...

Yes, suzyq, our local western store only carries cowboy type boots. I won't buy Harleys with much branding, if any. On amazon, the have some without the logo - I'll check our local store to see what I can find about size. I need to find a way to try on the more industrial Fryes too :)
