WIW: casual light grey and white

I was just looking for a reason to wear my grey cashmere, and Angie delivers a new, must-try ensemble!  I'm in!

It was grey jeans for me too, as my white ones got stained pink (thanks, son who did the laundry), and I haven't bleached them yet.  So I went for a column of grey with white and light blue accents.  I tried it with light shoes to blend in, and with brown boots to bookend my hair.  Neither worked terrific (I should have tried my shiny silver ones).

The jeans were demoted to "painting" gear a few months ago, since I never wore then.  Since their demotion, I've worn them more and more.  Now I'm debating re-promoting them to normal wear (a decision I need to make quickly, since we're laying wood flooring in our "new" house tomorrow and painting walls all next week).

What are your suggestions for improvement? And, are the jeans worth wearing regularly?

I like the tonal grey look. I have grey jeans and a grey sweater but it's never occurred to me to wear them together. I like the patterned sneakers too. I'm not sure about the fit of the jeans though. Maybe someone with a better eye will chime in.

I like the color of your jeans. So many grey jeans look dirty to me. Do you have other demoted jeans that you could wear for your painting and floor laying while you make up your mind about these?

I agree on the fit of the jeans - I like the way the legs fit, but the waist is too big, and a belt makes them bunch.  I really should try taking them in.

I like your gray outfit, Amy. The shoes are a fun touch, and I love the bit of blue you've added with the scarf. As to the jeans, I wonder if you could find a pair in that color that is not so big. I like a boyfriend jean, but these do look a bit too big in the waist. Yes, you could probably take them in, but I'm not sure you'd be able to take them in enough and/or get the fit you're after. I vote search for a new pair.

I think you're right Firecracker - on to the shopping list they go :)

Lovely tonal look! :) I also vote to search for a better fitting pair...

I like this outfit combo on you - you did a great job interpreting Angie's ensemble. The fit of this particular pair could be better in the waist.

Did you move to a new home?

    Thanks All!
Karie - not yet, but we're in the finishing stages of refurbishing one that we'll move to this Spring, we hope!

I like your grey on grey look! I agree that the jeans look a bit too big at the waist. Very exciting news about the new house!

I adore the colour and worn-in feel of the jeans, but they look a bit like men's jeans in the, er, crotch area. If it were me I'd give them a try with long tunic-length tops, because I wear a lot of my jeans that way anyway. I'm not sure you do though... I am picturing long, textured neutral knits.

How fantastic that your home is almost finished!!! Everyone must be so excited! Agreeing with others - the fit on the jeans is not fab enough for you. I love the pairing of the grey sweater and blue infinity scarf - the blue looks nice with your complexion. Love the sneaks!!!

I'm getting ready to do a huge amount of painting, too!  I wish you the best on all the "house work!"

I love this look on you, although I agree that I'd look for a replacement for the jeans that fit just a bit better -- don't let that stop you from enjoying these in the meantime!

Chiming in quickly to say you look huggable.

That shade of blue is lovely paired with grey.  Nice outfit!

I love this soft grey outfit on you. Agreeing with others on the fit of the jeans.

That's so great about your house!! Exciting times.

Nice! I like the jeans with the boots.

I've had issues with jeans where they fit like this, the waist is too big and it creates a crotch package.  Sooo frustrating.  The lighter the color the more exaggerated this effect becomes.  Love the sweater and color scheme on you though!

Loving the tonal greys and punch of blue Amy. I'm nodding along with the others re-fit of jeans though. You definitely need some new gray ones on your to-buy list though as I think they would be a great addition to your wardrobe.
