WIW: Cheery Brights (update better shoes)

I knew that Santana today demanded my red skinny jeans, and probably with purple or deep blue on top.  But it wasn't until I looked at the thread this morning that I realized that what it really needed was some hectic pattern.

The perfect hectic pattern for today was in my probation bin.  But I thought it was worth digging out just for today - and I'm glad I did, because I actually like this look.

(looking at the photo, I realize the shoes are wrong - my burgundy boots would be better - I'll change before I go out tonight on a date).

What do you think?  To me, it's a hectic look for a hectic day, but it makes me feel happy to be in such bright cheery colors.

(Oh, and I decided to upstage my photo bomber by making my own faces...)

EDIT: I just took a break to take a quick shower and decided to hop outside for pics before the daylight is gone.  So here's the outfit as I'll wear it on our date tonight - with the burgundy boots.  Looking at the photo makes me think I'd better swipe on a hint of lipstick before departing.

What a clever response to said photobomber!  Love the colors!  I you were to repeat this, I'd try a bright cardi so we "get" more of that fun shirt!

    And I second the boots!

    Have a great date!

Oh I like this. I love the burgundy/purple with your red jeans and the slice of pattern. I agree the burgundy boots would look fab. Nice job :)

I love it! You have made some really great outfits with those red jeans lately - I am really enjoying the interesting colour combinations you have chosen.

I immediately went to your post so that I could comment on how PHENOMENAL THIS LOOKS ON YOU!!!!!!!!! x 10

I love the color combo.  It looks very sophisticated and fun. The bright pattern is cheerful and the scale somehow works perfectly with the bold sweater and jean color combo.  It's strong enough to stand up to it, but it doesn't overwhelm it either.  And I can't say enough about how flattering the shapes are on this.  I think it is the best outfit I've seen on you ever.  I bet you are getting a K 2 Power K on this one.

I ... LOVE this combo on you.

Thank you Word Lily and K.  (and others) I'm blushing.  I like it too - even with the print I thought was too hectic and the brights too clashing.  Somehow it at least sort of works together.  (And now I'm thinking this top may get to stay after all).

I'm going to have to remember this combo for dreary winter days.

    Fabulous!

Great outfit! The print may be too hectic on it's own but it looks great layered with only a small piece showing. I love the burgundy boots and sweater together.

You look absolutely fantastic! I love this combination, especially with the dressier shoes in #2. I think it's my favourite outfit of yours ever.

Bright and cheery is right! Great outfit, love those boots!

Like the footwear, Amy!  Hope you had a great evening.

The bit of pattern peeking out here really ties the two colors together, very clever.

Love the colors - YLF! Have fun! I think you need to do a family picture of photobomb faces for your Christmas card to the YLF forum :)

The second version is fantastic though the photobomber is pretty darn cute.
