WIW: Cobalt, Black and White

Today I copied Angie's new cobalt shorts with my new-to-me cobalt capris, and topped them with black and white.  The photo turned out weird (strange angle, un-done hair, no makeup and grocery-run items stacked in the back).  But I think that the outfit IRL was maybe a bit better (I'm probably fooling myself though - I never did my hair or makeup)

I tried it with a white belt, but liked it better without the high contrast waist definition. 

What do you think?  Does it work?  What would make it work better?

    I love the pants and I love the black and white.  Is that a shirt or a jacket?  If it's a shirt, I would love to see it done up and semi tucked into the pants:)  If it's a jacket (which I think I recall it is) I would still like to see it done up:)  What is the black top like on it's own.  I could see a boat neck, 3/4 sleeve black tee a la Audrey Hepburn working a treat with these pants and I think it would really suit you.

    Ahh - thanks for the suggestion! 

    You remember correctly that it's a jacket. 

    And the tee is a simple v-neck.  I almost wore an oversized boat-neck black tee, but couldn't find a cami to wear under it, and it's a bit sheer (cami is now on the shopping list). 

    I'll try it with the 3/4 sleeve black tee or boat neck next time - thank you!

    This is a great outfit. I'd like to see the shirt tucked or semi-tucked and a belt. If you don't like white, try black.

    The cobalt pants are great and I love them with black. I like Deborah's suggestion about the jacket - that is the only part I think needs a bit of tinkering. Your hair and (un)make-up look just fine!

    I think this is good! I agree, tinkering with the jacket will make it better but this certainly isn't a fail.
