WIW: copycat

Here's a few WIWs.

#1-2 worn today.  I felt pretty good in it,
even though my jeans got a smidgin dirty when I decided to carry a table
and several boxes of books to and from a book sale.  This was a copycat
from StyleUp, which I can't figure out how to link to.  She was wearing
white shorts, a gray sweater and a pink scarf.

#3 worn yesterday.  I think I don't like this shirt - something about the color isn't right for me. Too pastel?

#4
worn Sunday.  I don't like the way the picture came out - I hope I
didn't look quite like that IRL :)  I do like the blue and green
necklace, and the blue and green of the outfit together.  Do the proportions and shapes work?

Suggestions always welcomed!

Oh, I love #1 and #3!  The white jeans are perfect on you, and the holiday effect of red and green is effectively broken up by the addition of a third color... sweet!

I think your first and third outfits look great! The red, blue, and green is lovely together. I think you should play where the tie of the shirt falls - maybe snug it up higher? It's hitting you on a wider point. But when you are walking I am sure it doesn't look blocky.

I love the grey and white together.

Love #1 - you look stunning in the jeans!

I do not dislike the second top on you...but you have a better sense of the colours in real life, so if your hunch is that it's no good, give it the old heave-ho.

Your copycat in grey pink and white is perfection. Wear this a lot!
I agree, the colour of the figured top isnot totally fab on you. I can't figure out why but it seems too harsh, somehow.
I love the red and green together. I would like to see the waist on that skirt to better display the way it falls. I think the skirt has a strong, fluid line and you only need a simple fuss free top with it, so I would tuck, not tie the shirt.

I love the grey and white combo - simple outfit yet very interesting and great colours. 2 seems like a safe MOTG combo and I don't see anything wrong with the top. The last outfit looks fine proportion wise, although Ceit makes a good point about experimenting with the shirt length.

Love the slouchy jeans and grey top together. Can you tuck in the green top in the last outfit?

You're looking terrific for Summer -- seems like you're sorting through and making some good selections.

#1 is really modern and very flattering.  This should be a FFBO outfit for you.
#2 is quite breezy and fun.  I don't think there's anything wrong with the color or print.  I think we tire of prints faster, and they also "date" themselves a little more quickly.
#3  Love the fun with color and I think the silhouette is great.  The length and flow of the skirt is spectacular.  If you wanted to mix this up, I'd think about swapping out the top.  It's color is very new, but the shape and the sleeve are not as fresh.  Now --- I keep wearing items like this in my own wardrobe, mixing them, as you have, with newer items because something stills appeals to me (in this case, the color).   I would, however, keep your eye at for a top in this green to replace it.  Tucking might work, too.

    i do love #1.
#3, the top is ok, but IMO you look better in more saturated colors like the green and the red in #4.

I like all three outfits :-)

#1 is summer sharp with the white jeans.

#2 is summer casual for MOTG.  I think your cute glasses would be a nice touch - to add that bit of black on top!  Wear one of your new lip colors too, to show up against the soft colors of the top.

#3 is bright and fun, and a great colors to wear with the denim skirt.

I love #1 - that's an outfit I would wear in a heartbeat!  I like the color of #2 but maybe it's not showing up right on my monitor.  #3 is fun with the red accents against the green and blue.

All three are great outfits. Ideas for tweaking 3 are good re-shirt length. Such pretty shades in 1 and your hair and make-up look cute in 3 :)

  • Kiwichik replied 10 years ago

The scarf is gorgeous love it with the grey top but not sure that the sandals work with the light colours. I don't mind the top in 3 but my favourite is the ladt outfit - not sure why you don't like the photo.

  • Sarah A replied 10 years ago

Yes...1 will be a great ffbo for you. The green and navy is very fresh with the red bag and shoes. Although like beth ann id like to see the poof on the sleeves dissappear.

    Eta: sewing project? :)

  • Thistle replied 10 years ago

    YLF!!

I really like #1 and #3. You rock those white jeans!!

  • amiable replied 10 years ago

Sarah A - great idea on the sewing project - I might try it.

The green shirt is really quite dated - I'm watching for a right-color replacement, but haven't found one yet :)

And Kiwichick - thanks!  I agree, I'd like light sandals better with this - but my light sandals are brown.  I really really want some white ones, and may talk myself into it yet.

All the others- you're so kind!  Thanks for your kind words and your suggestions and help!
