WIW: Cozies

Today started off crazy and COLD.

So I went for the coziest thing I could think of: my fisherman sweater.  It's one of those that is too warm for any but the coldest days.  Today's not super cold by winter standards, but I was freezing so I chose it, and layered a winter silk turtleneck under it.  It seemed to me to be asking for patterned pants, so the new-to-me camos came out again.  Brown belt and boots to finish it off.

I feel wonderfully warm and soft (the sweater is insanely soft cashmere).   I may overheat here in a few hours, who knows.  I think it's worth the risk :)

When I see the pics, I'm surprised at how well this outfit works considering the very little thought and planning it got.  Am I missing something, or does it actually work?  What suggestions do you have?

(Either way, I'm warmer, which makes me happy).

I really like this on you, everything works together to make a nice whole.

I think we already reached the high for today (at like 4 a.m.?) according to the forecast. But I digress. ETA: Oh wait, my point about bringing up the weather: You might not overheat after all.

I think it totally works. Glad you're warm and happy!

    The outfit is great!

That sweater is wonderful!  Although I don't wish cold weather on anyone, I hope you get to wear it a lot!

You're right Word Lily - that's a super cold wind blowing.  I keep expecting to see snow start flying by my window.  And so far, I'm still sorta chilly - though I suspect it's mostly residual and is pretty much confined to my hands and nose.

You look super cozy! I like the pairing of the bulky knit with the camp. It works really well on you.

I agree this really works well and it looks nice and warm too.

It looks really really good Amy.

Very nice! The colours, textures and print all work perfectly together.  My only nitpick is that I want to reach through the screen and tuck your pants a little further into your boots, they seem to be bunching a fair bit at the knee.

You're right Emily - they are.  But I don't wear my boots much around the house, so if/when I put them back on, I'll make sure to tuck the pants in properly.  (I had hurriedly pulled them on to see if they might work, then was surprised that they did, so I took a quick pic, then went back to working).

Great outfit !  It looks so cozy and stylish.  It is wonderful to get to the point where your pieces constitute a fab ensemble ?  That is our holy grail , after all.

  • carter replied 10 years ago

Definitely works! The belt and boots really pull it together.

Cozy and stylish! You look great in ivory.

Update: It's continued to get colder.  (Currently 26, with strong cold winds and some sleet).  I'm glad I'm warmly dressed!

    Killer

You nailed this look, and stayed warm. Well done. Cold snap here too. xo

Yup it works!  I would chalk it up to one of your best.  I find for me personally that outfits come together better when not overly thought out.

  • Susie replied 10 years ago

I agree that it is one of your best. I love it and I'm not even a fan of camo! Very well done.
