WIW: Cozy for a bit

Angie's post this morning made me want to wear a big scarf.  Do you think this fits the bill?

Unfortunately, I'll be changing out of this as soon as I get a chance to take a (second) shower after cutting my son's hair (he started the process yesterday with scissors), and cleaning up a mouse that had died under a cabinet in my room (stinky!) - because I feel dirty, even though I've only been wearing it a little while.

*sigh*  Oh well, I liked it while it lasted, and suspect this will be a really common winter silhouette for me.  I really love a warm neck!

What do you think?  What should I change for the next iteration of this outfit?

I like this as-is! Maybe one of your plaid shirts layered under?

    This is great on you!

You look great, rocking those red jeans. :)

You cut hair and clean dead rats in that????? You are such a true fashionista!!!! I won't change a thing in the outfit. It's minimalist and comfy. The scarf does look like the ones Angie showed. Great work!

I wouldn't change a thing!  This looks totally fab to me.

Neel - if I had planned better, I would have gotten dressed AFTER doing the messy work for the day.  I don't know what I was thinking.  Maybe I just wanted to wear two outfits today?

By the way, the sweater is navy - it looks black in the pics.

Hehe! I really wish I could see all the country life fun! Your life always sounds so interesting (even if it has dead rats in it!) And adventurous!

I actually live in a small city - near the edge of it.  But I can walk to fields (about a half mile away, where the "city" abruptly ends and there's nothing but soybean and corn fields).  But I do think I have a fond taste of the country life in my neighborhood.

So far today, I've cared for the neighbor's chickens (they're out of town for the week), walked to visit the fields, fixed a few problem in my software for work, taught my kids school, cut hair and cleaned up dead mice.  My kids did their school work as quickly as they could, and hurried outside to watch our next door neighbors get a new driveway poured.  It might not be glamorous, but my life is definitely an adventure!  :)  Come out and visit sometime!

    Big Scarf Lite.

    You look fab.

  • Neel replied 10 years ago

Oh dear Amy I am going to be dreaming about it tonight! Adventure extreme! I don't know how you do all of that though! I feel dizzy thinking of it lol!

I love it. Fab shade of red. Love the casual cons too.

Love this on you! Great jeans too!

I like the big scarf, and the red jeans! You always seem so good natured and even-keeled in describing your day. Getting rid of a mouse on top of everything else would send me over the edge :-)

YLF - sorry you have to change. I love the scarf & the pants are a great fit on you.

Super cute outfit and what a day!

We are cleaning dead mice out of our cupboards, too. And...er...off our basement floor - at least the remains of same. Our cat did some of the work. TMI, I know.

  • Deborah replied 10 years ago

I love this. Simple and modern.

  • amiable replied 10 years ago

Suz - glad to know I'm not the only one dealing with this.  This one was in my bedroom - I smelled it really faintly last night as we were going to bed - and my hubby thought I was making up phantom smells (I do have a pretty sensitive nose).  Then after my shower I smelled it again and the hunt was on.  Ew (and more TMI, sorry).  (Kinda wishing we had a cat to help - though I think we're actually rid of the mice now.  We don't hear them any more anyway).

And Deborah - back last summer you called an outfit of mine "streamlined and modern" and it's become kind of a style goal of mine to dress streamlined and modern.  Thanks for both the inspiration and the compliment!

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

A cat is a big help - they usually don't even come in anymore. But this year for some reason, they did. And yes....the smell is not good...Crossing fingers you are rid of them.

  • Windchime replied 10 years ago

You look great in your red jeans, with this scarf! I hope you wear this several more times during cold weather. But it's definitely too nice for dead mice. :)

  • Word Lily replied 10 years ago

    Lookin' good!

  • shemarie replied 10 years ago

What a great, pulled-together and sleek casual look! I love the red jeans + cons look...and the scarf is the icing on the cake! I need to pull out my red jeans and try this (well, minus the scarf since it's currently 75+ degrees).  Thanks for the inspiration! You look great!

Love the scarf on you! And you are rocking those red jeans.

Sympathies on the yuck filled morning. :(

  • pil replied 10 years ago

And I suppose you knit the scarf between the haircut and the dead mouse? :)

  • amiable replied 10 years ago

LOL pil - my mother knit the scarf as a Christmas present a few years ago :)

  • Transcona Shannon replied 10 years ago

Absolutely love this on you Amy and you definitely need to wear it another time for a FULL day!

  • 4babiesMe replied 10 years ago

I like this! Those jeans are great at showing off your long, slender legs.

  • Jeanie replied 10 years ago

Love this look on you!  Looks cozy, tomboy stylish.  I don't think any changes needed.   What a busy day!  Cats keep the mice out but they also bring them in!
