WIW: Gingham and culottes with flats

I'm trying out the idea of planning my outfits for a week at a time, so last Friday (or was it Saturday?), I sat down to plan what to wear this week.  My idea for the week was to pick a bunch of current trends and see how I felt about wearing them.

For today I had planned to wear gingham and denim culottes with my black Birkenstocks. (#2)  But this morning my gray loafers were calling my name, and I thought that perhaps nude would work with this outfit (#1). It follows the idea of wearing nude with culottes to lengthen the leg line, right?  Which works better?

<span style="letter-spacing: 0.1px; line-height: 1.6em;">The weather is not quite as warm as the forecast predicted, but with an undershirt I can get away with it today (current predicted high is 69F).

And I took outdoor pics for Angie - with the timer, so I didn't need my kids' willingness :)  I wonder if the bright light is too harsh - does it work?  No makeup, but I did comb my hair :)

Too cute for words. I'm dying to copy you, if only I had the blue gingham and culottes!

Fun and fab! It looks warm and sunny where you are!

I actually prefer them with the Birks - don't think your leg line needs to be lengthened or anything. :)

Super cute. I like both footwear options.

I think both pairs of shoes work really well. Great outfit!

Really cute Amy.  I think both shoes work but have a slight preference for the birks.

Cute! Both shoes work well, but I'm sure it's no surprise that I prefer the nude shoes :) Daylight works too, not overly harsh (no weird shadows, so you're set) but certainly bright. I personally like to shoot in the shade, even though it produces a "flat" looking photo from a photog standpoint, simply because that effect works nicely for showing off an outfit.

Both shoes work, but I much prefer the nude shoes. Very nice outdoor pics - try shooting in the same spot but at dusk or early morning (dawn is best but...) to avoid harsh sunlight.

I like the Birks for bookending your hair and with the denim. For more juxtaposition of elements instead of Birk + denim, I thing your outfit would also look good with a dressier shoe--just meaning a loafer or other flat-- but also dark (or medium color) .

Great outfit, I like the darker shoes here but it is close. Try shooting in the shade as Aida suggests so you don't have to squint!

Fun outdoor photos! I like your expressions :)

I like both shoe options. Great culottes.
