WIW: Jacket weather

With the arrival of spring weather, this post made me realize that now is my perfect window for wearing jackets.  I have several, but usually prefer simpler, un-layered looks, so the jackets take a back seat most of the year.  But right now, it's too warm for cozy sweaters, and too cool for summer shirts.  But jackets are perfect.

So I pulled out my leather almost-bomber jacket that reminds me of Amelia Earhart and thus makes me smile and earns it's keep.    I tried it three days in a row.

#1 over white and blue (just reversed from the post)
#2 with blue jeans and stripes
#3 over a print-mixed black stripe tube skirt and ditsy floral.  I liked this one the best laid out on the bed, but the picture is correcting my notion that it was really great :(

#4

Today a different jacket came out to play - a sunny orange that was asking to be combined with dark red.  Before I left home, I subbed out the clunky home-shoes for retro summer shoes in an almost-nude tan.  I'll take a picture next time I wear them, I promise.

All feedback is welcome - I'm excited to be giving my jackets some love - thanks for the inspiration, Angie!

It is jacket weather for me too. Sadly, It is such a short time before they feel too hot. I like your leather jacket best in #2 and 3. The yellow-orange jacket is really bright. I'm not sure it is good with your complexion, but it is hard to tell on-line.

Your outfits are lovely, Amiable.  Enjoy those jackets while you can.

Yay for jackets! You're looking really great in these pics Amiable. I like 3 a lot, don't fret over it one minute. And I echo what RL said too re your transformation.

Hooray for jacket weather! (I hope to wear my own more often in this lovely transitional period.) You look amazing! I especially love your nod to boho in outfit #1. I also love how you've softened up the tougher leather bomber with the pretty print top and tube skirt in #3. The sunny jacket in #4 is perfect for Spring.

I love it on that striped skirt!

    Thanks all!

(Joy - it's definitely a bright jacket, but not as glowing as in the photo.  It's not neon, more the color of a clementine or baby carrot.)

1&2 ar my favourite outfits. And I'm so jealous you can start on jackets already. I'm still cold in my wool coat.

Yes, it is jacket season!  I love wearing them in Spring and Autumn.

the combo of Summery orange and red is fab, and the rich color of your Amelia jacket is terrific!

I have a lot of jacket love for these looks!

My fav is #2, particularly because the ankles show with the turned up cuffs (your legs are so long cropped and turned up pants seem like a natural fit), and because the jacket and top hit at the waist in the same spot, which along with the stripes makes the look more crisp and pulled together  (unless the tunic is long as in #1 - which I also like, but am also curious to see with more ankle showing to balance the length of the top) .

I also really like the orange and red together in the last outfit.  Do you ever wear dark red lipstick?  I think that might work well with this outfit as the jacket is so bright it pulls attention away from your face but the lipstick would help balance it.

I like all the jacket looks too. #1 and #3 are my faves. Nice pattern mixing.

I think this is the best WIW I've seen from you!
I love that your jacket matches your shoes in the first set of pics. Plus I love the spring colours, and the rolled jeans are amazing on you. I WISH I could wear this style as well as you.
I also like your more delicate shoes.
Really like the red and yellow together as well. I like Rabbit's suggestion to do some lipstick.
