WIW: Meetup team wear

What a fabulous time it was this weekend meeting MerWoman, MissKatieKat, Michelle, Suz, Celia, Sveta, NicoleD and Emily!  I loved meeting you all and shopping with you.

And I bought a sweater.  I'd been convinced that blush was too close to my skin tone to be flattering on me, but these fab ladies took no time in proving me wrong :)  So when this sweater popped up at Loft, it was easy to choose the blush color.

This morning I was dead tired getting up, and didn't want to think at all about what to wear.  But I figured there was no reason to not wear this sweater (especially since it's considerably warmer here than in Toronto, 21 C or 70 F today, making me want to wear it before it's too warm).

So this is what my bleary brain came up with.  And I think it worked.  But feel free to tell me I'm wrong - I doubt I've had three coherent thoughts all day long.  I don't know how those of you who travel often do it.  I have a blast and wear myself out.

#1 how I wore it most of the day.  (Yes - a skirt!  And nude hose with tall boots.  It was warm enough).

#2 is with the jacket I added for a trip to a windy park with the kids.  In this pic I'm literally too tired to stand up straight and leaning against the wall for support.

And I know it's not cool to post and run, but I'm going to bed.  Any comments are welcome.  No comments is fine too.  I'll check back in the morning!

Oy - it's the boxy over boxy formula, and I forgot to link to the post :(

This is a great outfit - one of my favorites on you. And the ladies were right, the blush is very flattering. Sleep well!

Totally works Amy! Wow girl, didn't you nail it or what? I think this is my favorite outfit of yours ever!
I am so glad you overcame you fear of blush and got it (and I have to get to bed too :-))

One of your best!  I'd love a blush sweater and now need to find time to get to the Loft.

  • Marmee replied 10 years ago

Amy, you look so polished!  This is the most amazing outfit.  I bet the other moms a the park were impressed!

I'm always on the run, so I always post and run!  Sleep well.

Wow, this is sensational, Amy! I so wish i could have gone shopping with you, but clearly you got some great advice because this is absolutely K-worthy  -- the sweater itself and your entire outfit!

I hope you get some rest! It was such a pleasure to meet you in real life. I only wish I could have been there longer.

#2 is especially cute with the boots and jacket -- sort of edgy and playful. This gives me an idea. I have similar boots perhaps an outfit directly inspired by this is in my future ;-) Thanks for posting!

That color is beautiful on you. It really shows of you wonderful complexion.

  • CocoLion replied 10 years ago

Well done Amiable.  It's sort of polished-preppy-edgy all in one.

  • catgirl replied 10 years ago

A favorite for sure! Pretty and edgy and comfortable looking. How fun!

  • rabbit replied 10 years ago

This is great!  It works in so many ways and encapsulates a lot of (perhaps seemingly contradictory) styles you wear well!

  • Marley replied 10 years ago

You look sensational in this!  One of my favorites.  Love those boots - they really "edge" up the outfit!

  • Janet replied 10 years ago

I think this is my favorite outfit I've seen on you. Looking great! Your hair is looking nice these days too -- I like the longer length.

  • merwoman replied 10 years ago

Amy!!! You are totally rocking this - #2 sends me over the moon! So perfect.
    Hugs to you! Sue

  • amiable replied 10 years ago

Wow - Thank you all for the outfit love!  The only comments I'd gotten on it in real life were that I looked tired.  (Of course, I WAS really tired - but it made me wonder if my outfit was making it worse or minimizing it).

I know this sweater is going to get lots of wear - I already have plenty of ideas for outfits around it.  I love how blush really works like a neutral!

  • Beth Ann replied 10 years ago

I love it, Amy!  I think the pairing with black is paritcularly modern, as is the relaxed fit.  Hope you got some good rest!

  • viva replied 10 years ago

Wow - love how pulled together this outfit is! It's got this great boy/girl vibe and is springlike but also perfect for this transitional season. LOVE with the jean jacket.

  • celia replied 10 years ago

Amy, it was truly a pleasure meeting you. Good thing you bought that because it looks fabulous on it.
Hope you get your well deserved rest.

  • Emily replied 10 years ago

Amy, wow, look at you go!  The black collar layered underneath reminds me of the tipped blouse you and Sveta both tried (and looked fab in).  This outfit is perfectly put together - the skirt and sweater are girly, but the black collar and tall boots give it edge.  I can't wait to see how else you wear the sweater!  Not that it matters, but what does DH think?

(And, of course, it was a pleasure meeting you on Saturday.  I really enjoyed chatting with you!)

  • amiable replied 10 years ago

I warned DH ahead of time that I didn't think he would like the color.  He said - "Why - is it bleh?" :)

But he took the hint well, and said nothing specifically about the sweater, but did say that the outfit looked nice.

  • AviaMariah replied 10 years ago

Wow!  I think this is my favorite outfit that you've posted!  I especially love it with the jacket. And I think the boots really make it.

  • pil replied 10 years ago

Nothing original to add - great sweater and YLF! The boots!

  • Angie replied 10 years ago

    Killer

It's very hectic at the Cox Castle today, but I had to tell you how fab you look in blush. xo

  • DonnaF replied 10 years ago

You knocked it out of the ballpark on this one!!!  YLF!  My favorite of yours yet, or at least a strong contender with your red jeans.

  • Karie replied 10 years ago

You look great! I love those boots.

  • rachylou replied 9 years ago

Fantastic. And with the boots... oo la la! :D
