WIW: more orphans

I'm starting the process of evaluating clothes that I expected to wear this winter and didn't.

First up, this skirt.  This one is easy - I don't wear skirts in winter.  I'll save it for summer.  I tried it out with tights last Sunday, and thought it worked okay (though it's definitely not for super cold weather)

Secondly, sporty vests.  I have several and only wore the lumberjack one. I've already purged some.  Here's a quilted plum one that I like but haven't worn before today.  Is it worth keeping?

Wow. So fun to see you in a skirt. Works really well. I can't keep my eyes off that outfit. xo

#1 is amazing on you! Is the skirt denim? It passes as ink to my eye and looks so great with the black.

  • amiable replied 10 years ago

Yes, the skirt is a dark blue denim. I'm glad you like it.  I do too, and am sure that I'll wear it lots in warmer weather :)

Jumping on the bandwagon with my love for 1! :)

Love the skirt. Not crazy about the vest. It looks too small...I don't mean in size. It's too small in presence on you, if that makes sense.

One of the comments at church (regarding my skirt) was "I didn't realize you have such fancy legs!".  Haha!  (They will, come summer, when I wear skirts a lot).

I love your skirt outfit. Yes… keep that skirt for Spring, Summer and Fall. You may get more use from it when it gets a bit warmer. Your vest outfit is cute. I think sporty vests are an item most likely to be worn in a shoulder-season (Early Spring, Late Fall). As it gets colder, most of us want a full coverage jacket. As it gets warmer, we don't really need or want that extra layer. Here in New England, my vests get a workout in March, April, October and November. They sit in the closet for the rest of the year.

The skirt is lovely on you.  I'm not a skirt gal, but when I would sport dresses in winter, I could only do so with fleece lined tights, they are nice and warm.  A great idea to start evaluating unworn items at this point in the season.

The skirt is terrific so good you are saving. I think I would prefer the other one without the vest.

More love for the skirt. It looks terrific on you!
I find that quilted vests like that work well as really casual or gear...times when I need the warmth but need to use my arms and keep them free from too much bulk...like cooking, doing cleaning and lifting, that sort of thing.
How do you feel wearing it?

Amy I really like the skirt.  It's a great colour and shape and just right the length.  I like the length with the tights and the shape of those shoes....the whole line is very flattering.  The vest is more difficult.  I don't love that type of garment but they can look good.  How do you feel?  Do you feel good wearing it?

Skirt outfit is tops, not so clear on the vest one. In this shot it looks a tad miserly in its cut across the shoulder.
But I like the general idea of that outfit.
    Love your hair Amy.

Love you in that skirt!! And the addition of the colorful crossbody bag is very fresh!!

Not a huge fan of the vest but I like the color on you. Not very helpful I know!

Great fit on the skirt, Amy, and a great dark wash.  The shoes and tights really work here, too.  The vest is cute, but looks off a bit in scale -- a little short and small.  Now, I bet it has just swung a bit to the back for the pic, so perhaps a different pic would show something different.  I'm often craving about an extra inch in tops and toppers, too, without being tall!

Love the skirt, Ms. Fancy Legs!

Not crazy about the vest, it does look a bit too small.
