WIW: Soft and saturated

When I looked at the Alanis album cover, I saw "soft" and saturated tones.  So I chose my soft flowy shirt in a saturated blue, and paired it with white, for the white on the upper left portion.

I wore my darkest lipstick, but really only for the photo.

And I had wore a pendant with swirled colors, like in the bottom of the album cover.  (shown in pic 3, where my lipstick looks much brighter than it really was)

I added my burgundy boots, because I liked the way they looked with it.

Before leaving, I added on a plum vest (that's actually almost exactly the color of the boots) for warmth, and because I thought the colors mimicked the album reasonably well.   And I changed the swirly colored pendant to a longer chain (which length is better?)

I felt pretty good in this today - it's a fun challenge!

You look terrific in this shade of blue!  I like it particularly well with the vest -- adds structure to the flow of the shirt.

I have a slight preference for the longer chain.

Great job with the challenge, Amy!

Oh, great interpretation! The colors of the pendant do match the album perfectly! I think I prefer the shorter chain length. It's not noticeable right away, but is a FAB detail that delights up close. :-)

LOVE that colour on you. I prefer the shorter chain too. Nice work.

Shoot, this is good. I'm so impressed how you captured the spirit of Alanis. I'm pretty convinced I can't do her voice - her fashion voice, that is.

I like the dark lipstick, btw. I don't think I believed it could be done in real life until now...

Love the pendant!!  It really does match the album cover!  The bright lipstick looks great on you!  And the burgundy and blue combo is lovely!

Your shirt color (reads cobalt blue on my monitor) is beautiful on you. And I, too, love the short pendant. I wonder if you have other wardrobe items which would also work with it. If it were mine, I'd reach for it a lot.

And I continue to like your new hair. :)

Love the outfit -- and I am mixed on the pendant. Love that you can wear it both ways!

Great color and I like the lip!

What a great shade of blue for you!  Nice booties too.  I think the shorter necklace looks better up close, but the longer one from a distance.

Thanks you all - I'm really enjoying this challenge!  That outfit was comfy all day - I think that cobalt top may be coming in to a lot higher rotation - I hadn't realized that it worked so well with just regular jeans.

Great interpretation Amy - and that cobalt color is lovely on you.

The blue shirt looks great on you.  I prefer shorter chains with button-down shirts - that's just my preference though.  The pendant definitly mimics the album cover.

Very nice, and I especially like #4. Well done.
