WWW: JFE for Easter? (Edit: more options)

Ignore the hair - I played with curling it this morning, but I don't think I will tomorrow for Easter.

I'm playing with the idea of wearing booties with this skirt for Easter, and a black top seems to be the right choice, but I'm not sure this specific black top is - is it flattering enough?  I feel like it's a lot of volume going on....

I have other tees that I could try with this - should I?

Other suggestions?

This is a post-n-run - I'll be back in a few hours.

Edit:  Here's a few more options and combos, per suggestions.

#2 with a pink sweater (from the purge bag) and white sandals.

#3 blush sweater and white sandals

#4 tighter shirt, daintier shoes.

#5 White sparkle shirt, nude shoes

#6 White silver-stripe sweater, nude shoes

#7 Black narrower shirt (same as #4), different black shoes

#8 Black shirt (same as #4 and #7), but with the nude (they're actually a cream with gold sparkles) shoes.

What do you think?

Pretty skirt, Amy!  I'm singing --- like, Handel, at the 6am and 9am service.  "I Know that My Redeemer Liveth?"  Jesus and I don't meet until at least mid-morning most days, but I'll do my best.  I test-drove my outfit today, too.

I don't think it's too much volume, but it could use a bit more structure.  Do you have a black jacket?

  • Joy replied 10 years ago

The proportions seem off. Can you tuck or half tuck the top? Pretty skirt. I need to think about what to wear. Our services start tonight (Easter Vigil, the highlight of the liturgical year and most come in dressy Easter garb).

You have awesome legs Amy - and what a great skirt for showing them off!

Beth Ann has made some wise comments - and I am wondering about how that blush sweater might look? Might be too much volume, but it is so springy!

I'm not keen on the footwear, as I find it too much contrast between your skin colour - but that could just be me. What other options do you have?

Will you be hiding eggs for the kiddies??

I love your skirt. As for the top, I kind of want a tiny bit less length or a short structured jacket over it. I feel that maybe the proportions, for my eye at least, are just a smidge off.

I like the proportions of the top and skirt - very 2014. May I suggest a prettier shoe?

  • Sharon replied 10 years ago

I like it a lot, and I think the volume of the top looks good. I don't think I have seen you wear a skirt before, you look very pretty! I like the idea of booties or a shoe with a heel.

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

The skirt is lovely, Amy!! If you have a more refined and dainty shoe I think it would work great as is!

  • amiable replied 10 years ago

Thanks Ladies!  A better shoe is in order - I'll post pics when I have some....

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

    I really like #4 a lot!!

  • Marley replied 10 years ago

#4 is my fave. Followed closely by #1 - cuz I always like me a pair
    of booties!

  • amiable replied 10 years ago

Thank you Suz and Marley - I'm inclined to go with #4 - even though I just added a few more options.

I'm done trying on clothes for the evening :)

    Thanks for all your help!

I think #4 looks beautiful. Have a happy Easter!

  • Sveta replied 10 years ago

Surprisingly I like it best with the black top - somehow it allows the pretty skirt to be the star. Out of those shoes I prefer the nude ones but if you have even prettier shoes I wold love to see them too!

  • merwoman replied 10 years ago

    #4! Sweet dreams!!

  • Jaime replied 10 years ago

    #4 or #7! Happy Easter!

  • Isis replied 10 years ago

Another vote for #4 and I also like the shoes in #7!

So pretty ; inspried to wear a flowery skirt for easter too!

  • Parsley replied 10 years ago

Either #4 or #7 looks great. What a pretty skirt!
Happy Easter to you and your family!

  • amiable replied 10 years ago

Thank you Ladies!  I'll plan to wear #4

Because Sveta suggested it - one more pic though - to me, the dark shirt needs dark shoes - am I mistaken?  Is this one better?

  • Windchime replied 10 years ago

Another vote for #4. You look very pretty and spring-like.
I'm so glad you posted this because you and I have very similar skirts planned for tomorrow, although mine is lime green, black, and white. I spent a good hour this afternoon getting my outfit figured out and, like you, eventually selected a black short-sleeved shirt and black ankle boots. I actually preferred mine with a black cardigan, but the church was uncomfortably warm when I was practicing there today (warmth a function of the heating system, not the weather!) Your #4 may inspire me to reach for ballet flats, instead of ankle boots. Happy Easter, Amy!

I like #4 best. I'm inclined to agree with you that the black shirt somehow needs the black shoes.  Happy Easter!

  • AJ replied 10 years ago

4 or 7 for the win!

    Happy Easter!

  • harmonica replied 10 years ago

I think you nailed it in #4. Lovely skirt! I like how the black shoes bookend the top.

  • merwoman replied 10 years ago

Back again Amy! Haven't changed my mind about #4 for the win, but to answer your question,  I think the nude shoes could work - it would depend on what arm candy (hand bag) or topper you are sporting.

  • LACeleste replied 10 years ago

I think that outfit you chose is wonderful Amy! Very pretty!

  • Angie replied 10 years ago

I'm cheer leading for #4. You nailed it. Happy Easter. xo

  • rachylou replied 10 years ago

Did you do #4? That's my belated pick (I also liked 2/3 after 4).
