Pink and Camo, (Edit - better)

I'm not sure this combo is working today - and pardon my crazy hair...

Off to ponder what to wear instead :)

Here it is - per Emily's suggestions, and brushing my hair out of my face - Thank you.  I think it works much better!

I like the pieces together, actually.   The pants are really pretty colour and look great with your shoes.  Semi tuck, white belt, & roll the pants?

Great Ideas Emily - will do!

  • Angie replied 10 years ago

It's not bad at all. Emily makes nice suggestions. xo

What Emily said - I think this only needs a little tweaking to become a great combo. The colors are lovely together.

  • AviaMariah replied 10 years ago

I was going to say the same thing as Emily.  I think it has great potential.  I love the color combo.

I hope you might share a new pic if you try Emily's suggestions as pink/olive tones do work really well together.

  • amiable replied 10 years ago

I followed Emily's suggestions, combed my hair and was out the door.  I have a new pic, but haven't loaded from my camera yet.  I'll put it up this afternoon.

Everything Emily said ...although I might suggest trying a  lower contrast belt. Love that gorgeous top...and Amy you are fearless. Love  that you don't let a crazy hair day interfere. I am smiling remembering how we 'changed' in the Zara line  up waiting for a change room - you are my kind of shopping buddy!

  • amiable replied 10 years ago

And I'm already pining for another shopping date with you all Sue!  My shopping buddy here thinks everything looks wonderful on me (because I'm thinner than her), and I end up with way more than I should buy :)  I miss the teaching of all of your discerning eyes.  I need to write down lessons to remember:  no sloppy hemlines on tops!  don't settle on colors!  etc.

I have never seen a store with that kind of waiting lines for a dressing room - it still shocks me in my memory :)

Thanks for the suggestions!  Here's how it ended up looking.  I don't think I'm knocking it out of the ballpark, but I also don't think it looks awful.  And the weather today is so springy and warm that wearing light pants and short sleeves just seems to be appropriate.

  • carter replied 10 years ago

I think #2 looks fantastic and so Springy!

  • cciele replied 10 years ago

I like how it ended up looking! And to be honest, I wasn't a big fan of #1 at first, since the silhouette and shade of pink reminded me of scrubs (sorry!). But the little details in #2 made a big difference.

  • Aida replied 10 years ago

#2 looks much better, isn't it amazing how such small tweaks can change over a look? The white belt really makes it for me; white footwear would be even more lovely, because it'd add another on-trend item and give the look even more purposefulness (if that makes sense?). These shoes look good too, just saying as another option :)

  • merwoman replied 10 years ago

Yeah!!! The tweaks are amazing - how does it feel to you?

    Hugs to you Amy! Sue

  • Beth Ann replied 10 years ago

Yeah to Emily!  The tweaks make this a great look and, hey, a girl on the plains needs to rock some camo, so it might as well be pink!

  • Transcona Shannon replied 10 years ago

Fab tweaks turned an ok outfit into a great one! Love the color combo.

  • amiable replied 10 years ago

Yes - and thank you all!  I ended up really liking this outfit.  And just as Aida said, I think I'll do it with white shoes next time, to bookend the belt.

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

Amy, #2, is fabulous on you!! I love how you keep experimenting. Emily's tweaks just brought it to your new level!

  • Emily replied 10 years ago

    You look great, Amy!  <3

  • Angie replied 10 years ago

    Great. Well done. xo

  • An replied 10 years ago

Wow, such a great example of how some tweaking can make such a difference. Really like #2.

  • AJ replied 10 years ago

Yes, the front tuck with white belt showing does look better. Great color combos!

Do you have a link for those pants? I'm trying to add more colored bottoms this spring/summer.

  • amiable replied 10 years ago

They're Forever21, I think.  But not current season - I got them at Goodwill.

  • harmonica replied 10 years ago

    LOVE #2!! Great job, Amy!

  • rachylou replied 10 years ago

    It's great!
