WIW: sawdust

I'm scarce on the forum these days, and that's likely to continue for a while. We're putting most of our energy into finishing our house so we can move in!

I'm still mostly following Ingunn's February calendar, but interpreting the themes rather loosely. I enjoy having the prompt to get me inspired to get dressed.  In March, I'm likely to repeat January's, or make another calendar for myself (unless you make a March one, Ingunn.  In that case, please share :)  )

Here's a few outfits that I managed to snap pics of.

#1 skirted leggings and turtleneck with a long sweater.
#2 statement shoes
#3 gray-scale (I think it was on the day that "all black" was on the calendar, ha).
#4 gingham, white and silver with what currently fit me like wide-leg jeans (they say "skinny straight", but look wide-leg to me).  And a pink coat.
#5 Sunday's outfit without the coat.
#6 Wore the same thing Saturday to a baby shower
Yep - my favorites are on repeat, I guess :)
#7 Pop of color (gray with a "pop" of teal) worn in the new house.  Floors are done!  This pic shows the pale maple of the second story floors
#8 the living room floor - hickory, stained and finished.  We are going for the "old bar" type floor - trying to add character back in to the 1890's house we gutted.

All feedback and suggestions welcome :)

WIW: a few from Ingunn's February calendar

The calendar from Ingunn is here.  I'm still enjoying following it, though have had a pretty busy last week or so, and haven't gotten photos every day.  Here's a few photos that I did manage to get.

#1 was supposed to be black-out, but ended up grey-out (a groutfit?).  It's my new-to-me cashmere sweater over old gray skinny jeans.  I enjoyed it and felt cozy :)

#2 ink-out, except that I tossed my long charcoal sweater over it....

#3 is the two-shirts layered idea again - this time with pointy toes so that it could properly be Angie's drapey top over flared jeans ensemble

#4 is the soft/hard juxtaposition - I went with leather and lace, and couldn't believe I hadn't thought to wear this together before.  It'll definitely get repeated.

#5-6 In house news, we installed the wood flooring! Hickory on the main floor (with a very dusty camera lense!) in #5 and maple on the second story floor, #6 is my youngest helping to lay out the maple to be nailed.

WIW: Ingunn's calendar into February

Ingunn made a February calendar to humor me (because I liked her January one so much).  I'm hoping that she's using it too, and I'm not just mooching off her labor :)
Anyway, this week I took most of the calendar day challenges, and this is what I wore, in reverse order due to the pictures loading that way:

#1 skirted leggings I made these myself (just cut a black tee shirt and sewed it to fleece-lined leggings) so that I could have the width and length of skirt I wanted.  I followed Angie's ensemble by wearing it with a plaid shirt and leather jacket.  I've been wanting to try these tall boots with my new Birkenstock insoles, and this outfit seemed like a suitable time to do so.  They were comfy for 4-5 hours, but not all day :(  When I stopped by my in-laws in the evening, my mother-in-law said "You work from home and you dress like that"?  I'm not sure it was a compliment :)

#2 white shirt or blue without denim It's not really a white shirt, but this white jacket was feeling lonely in my closet, and asking to be worn, so I accommodated it.  My blue-without-denim the day before (see #3) had been such a failure that I thought I should make another attempt.  I liked this version much better.  But I suspect I would have liked it even more with blue jeans....

#3 blue without denim was difficult for me - the "I wear jeans almost every day" girl.  I tried going for a column of blue, with a lighter blue top, but felt smurfy.  So I put on a pull-over that I thought would compliment the brightness of the cobalt cords.  I felt garishly bright.  Putting my gray sweater over it made it warm and wearable.  But the only reason I wore it all day was because I was too lazy and busy to change.  The next day was a bit more successful (see #2).

#4 stripes I usually wear this tee shirt as pajamas, but thought that a "stripes" day would be a good time to wear it "for real".  And I ended up really liking the outfit.  This will probably get repeated.

Today I wore Angie's ensemble from this morning, so that'll get a different thread.

Thanks for any comments or suggestions for improvement!

WIW: casual light grey and white

I was just looking for a reason to wear my grey cashmere, and Angie delivers a new, must-try ensemble!  I'm in!

It was grey jeans for me too, as my white ones got stained pink (thanks, son who did the laundry), and I haven't bleached them yet.  So I went for a column of grey with white and light blue accents.  I tried it with light shoes to blend in, and with brown boots to bookend my hair.  Neither worked terrific (I should have tried my shiny silver ones).

The jeans were demoted to "painting" gear a few months ago, since I never wore then.  Since their demotion, I've worn them more and more.  Now I'm debating re-promoting them to normal wear (a decision I need to make quickly, since we're laying wood flooring in our "new" house tomorrow and painting walls all next week).

What are your suggestions for improvement? And, are the jeans worth wearing regularly?
