WIW: blush, stripes, and orange

A quick post-n-run before bed.

WIW the last three days:

#1 Blush tee-shirt with white jeans, leopard belt and cognac sandals.  I tried adding a white necklace or a scarf, but both were just too warm (or heavy, in the case of the necklace) for today's heat.  So I decided that I liked the combo just fine plain.

#2 Orange crepe top with jean shorts.  I like the color combo, but the top is too big.  I think I'll put it on style exchange soon - it's actually a good brand (Ann Taylor Loft, I think) and in perfect condition.  I wore it backwards, because I liked it much better that way. (It has a keyhole button in the "front").

#3 A striped skirt with a baggy tank.  I'm going to try this combo again after Angie's blog post (I wore it the day before), with a baggy tee instead - and leave it untucked.  I don't like the way the stripes show the curve below my belly - think I'll try to cover that up!

Thank you for your suggestions and feedback - you know I love to learn!

I love all of these.  #1 just made me gasp when I clicked on it - the soft color is beautful on you - so complimentary to your complexion - and the shoes and belt are a great "grounding" factor.  #2 is a fun, casual cool looking outfit - I don't think that top looks too big on you.  And, with $3, you could be a perfect model for Angie's blog post today - so flattering on you - and, believe me, any curves that I see with that skirt, look feminine and flattering!  Great set of WIWs!

What a terrific set of outfits!  You are rising to the challenge of casual Summer dressing and then some.  I love all three. The blush is subtle, but warm and very modern.  I think the top in #2 could be taken in pretty easily.  Love it with the cute short.  Also, I don't think the "molding" of the stripes #3 would be as noticeable IRL.  The camera really catches this kind of thing.

With a baggy tee I think I would prefer a more tapered skirt - but I know you've got the sewing mojo (and raise chickens too? Say what? Ok that was random but I saw something about chicken feed in another thread! You're amazing :) )

    Love the blush outfit!

I think the top in 2 looks great -- how does it look with the skirt in 3?

3 perfect outfits!  I like the oversized feel of the orange top, even though you said it's too big.  The color is gorgeous on you.  Loving the simple chic-ness of #3.

What Marley said!! Great outfits -- perfect simple MOTG summer looks. I love how you can wear so many different colours and tones.

I'm thinking they all look wonderful and most definitely should be repeated!  Your little blonde accessory is too cute ;-)

I like the orange top size over the shorts - it adds volume and debombshells them.  Did you ever pair the orange top over the striped skirt?  That could be fun.

Your white jeans are perfect fit and length BTW.  They qualify as a 'treasure', you know!

What a cute little guy you have there! Give him a hug from me. :)

I love you in the blush shade, so fresh with the white! The orange top might be a little big but you did a great job styling it here. Love the third outfit the most, all snappy with your semi-tuck. Pretty and practical all at the same time.

These are some of your best outfits! Your son is adorable too!

What Marlay said. I absolutely love #1 on you.

Wow, Amiable, you are definitely in the "advanced placement" classes of YLF.
The soft blush and white jeans in #1 is gorgeous on you! #2 has so much energy with the orange top. The size looks good to me, but if you're not quite happy with it can you take it in a bit? #3 is terrific too - so comfy and put together you could wear it just about anywhere.

These are all great but I esp. love the 3rd one - so flattering and casual chic on you!

I like all the outfits. The colours of #1 are very soft and work well with your skintone. I love the colour of the top in #2 and even though it's a bit big the baggy fit looks good on you. #3 is casual and classic! Happy Friday!

I really like the combo of the white jeans and blush top.  The shirt in #2 looks ok in the photo - sort of the intentional oversized thing that is current right now.  But #3 is my favorite of all these.  The striped skirt looks really good and I like seeing in you glasses for a different look.

These are all just great!  And your little sidekick is totally adorable!

Yep, I too agree with Marley! These are great summer outfits- relaxed yet stylish.

I love all of these looks. The orange top may feel big but it looks just right. Taper it a bit if you really feel you need to, but otherwise wear it just as it is.

Info on the blush tee, please! You just look great!

    #1 is great!

Loving you and your accessory in pastels in #1 - and great belt pairing!  Wise idea to keep it simple - it looks modern and fresh. Like others, I'd like to see that orange top over the striped skirt - which looks great on you!

The blush outfit is lovely, great soft colors for the heat.  And I really like the casual vibe of the striped skirt.  I never would have noticed the stomach area if it wasn't pointed out to me.

  • amiable replied 10 years ago

Rachy, you crack me up - The blush tee is probably years and years old - I just picked it up at a Clothing give-away this week.  It's Apt. 9 "Essential Tee" if that helps :)

Thanks for all the liking it!  I liked it too.  It was perfect for a not-blistering summer day :)

You look fantastic in all these outfits! #3 is a perfect MOTG skirt and I love the colors in #1!
