WIW: eliminating orphans (Edited)

for some reason, I started trying to wear closet orphans, to decide whether they're capable of earning their keep.  This has resulted in a lot of "miss" outfits lately.  But oh well, my closet is getting thinned :)

#1: The pumpkin tee is gone

#2 - 3: worn out on a date - the shoes are uncomfortable, but I'm going to try lacing them differently to see if they can be rescued.

#4: I liked this one - I love the fit and drape of the shirt, and I think the blush color is okay on me - so I'm keeping it for now.  The pants are on the "mend" pile to taper the legs - I think that will make them more wearable.

#5:  I'm wearing the same shirt in #4 today, but it's a cloudy day, and my pic is in artificial light.  I'm amazed at how the color looks terrible on me in different lighting.  If I didn't have pic #4 (also from this week), I'd probably not keep the top.  and even today, I'm thinking of changing to a color that will brighten me up a little. (EDIT: I changed into a navy tee with the gray jeans in #8.  I think it's a bit better - is it?)

Bonus pics #6-7 - the concord grapes are ripe.  Picked about ten gallons yesterday.  That will make a lot of jam - I may have to try wine or juice or something, just to use them all.

I'd love feedback and suggestions for my outfits!

#2 is a great look for you. No need to reserve it for date night! I always pop cushioning insoles into my Chucks. That might help.

Good job purging, Amy. It's great to see you have fun and make progess in this way.

Thanks Angie!  Until today, the top in #2 is too hot except when I know I'm going to be in air conditioning - so it's been reserved for then during the summer.  It'll be coming out lots this fall though, I think.

I also changed out of the blush shirt to try for one that is less washed-out with the gray jeans - does the navy tank work?

You bet your cute patootie that the navy tank works, Amy. I like #8 A LOT. Well done.

I see no problems with the color of the blush tee and the fit looks really good too. I kinda like the "washed out" look in 5. I think it's cocolion who does this to perfection.  The navy tank looks great.  Not sure if it's the color or the sleeve/neckline that frames your face so nicely.   Yeah for extra grapes!  I'm a wine making fiend so thanks for sharing.

Thanks Angie - I'm glad it works better!  I feel like I should add some earrings or a necklace....

Thanks Suzyq - your comment makes me realize that I could swap out the cognac belt and boots for white, and go for the washed out look.  I'll try that idea soon!

I agree that the top in #2/3 is great. Tapering will probably help the jeans in #4. I've done that to several pairs of mine and it's a quick and easy fix. I always try them on before cutting the extra fabric off just in case I need to make adjustments.

    Mmm, grapes!

Editing is key to a great wardrobe!  I wear insoles in my Cons, too.  Also, you might try layering a low contast tee under the top in #2 when the weather gets color.

The blush top?  OK, but not a fabulous color on you.  It might be useful as a blending piece with a topper.

My grandparents grew Concords, and had a 2 acre "garden" on top of their jobs in a furniture factory.  I have no idea how they worked that hard at 60!

Wow that's a lot of grapes!  Great casual looks here!

I like both tops with the grey jeans.

I like the navy tank look a lot! And you are rocking those long shorts. Grapes look delicious.

I like both tops with the gray jeans. While Ido like the blush top on you, I do see what Beth Ann is saying about using it for layering. And you now have me thinking about altering a pair of my bootcuts.

My favs are #2 and #8!

Agree with the consensus. The jeans and cons look exceptional on you. And I am just full of admiration for your farming, fruit gathering and preserving.
