WIW: white, olive and navy

Yesterday was too dark to get a good picture, and today it's too bright to get a good picture. (I may try again with my tripod once my kids leave for swimming lessons, so they're not offended that I'm not letting them more pics...)   So thanks for bearing with my bad pics. :)

Today's orphans (day 14) are an olive green tee (shown without topper in #2), and a navy suede jean-style jacket.

I found the jacket yesterday when I was trying out the red velvet one (now purged), and couldn't believe I'd forgotten about it.  I like both the way it fits and the color (navy with yellow jean-jacket styled stitching).  I knew right away that my goal today would be to wear that jacket.  I paired it with the olive tee, because it's another orphan, and because I thought it would make a reasonable pairing.  What do you think?

Does the addition of the brown belt and shoes bring in too many disparate colors?    In my mind, it works, but your eyes are much better at seeing these things that I am.

My leaning is to keep the jacket and is neither here nor there on the tee.  It's useful for layering (which is probably the only way I'd wear it anyway), but I'm not sure about the color on me, and it's kinda thin (not very substantial).

What do you think?

You look lovely! Your boy is so cute!

The brown elements are perfect in this. They go really well with the olive. I'd say they are the perfect neutral. Great casual outfit. I much prefer too much light than not enough. The tee is a good layering piece--I rarely/never wear tees like that on their own. Nice rugged jacket.

Well I love this outfit.  I think the olive is a great color on you.  Do you have it full tucked in pic #3?  I think I like it that way better with the jacket but l like the half tuck if you wear it w/out the jacket.  I vote keep them both!

It looks (without seeing a back photo, but) like this jacket fits you really well. The shoulders, the sleeves look perfect. The whole color combo works really well, too. And I don't think the brown is too much, either.

I like the T, and the jacket! And the brown looks lovely with this.

I like this combination a lot, Amy!
The olive and navy are nice together, and I think the brown belt and shoes are just right as accents.

    Love this combo!

And your little boy and his fab pants gives new meaning to the term "semi-tuck!"  ;)

My kids think it's super fun to photo bomb, then look at themselves in my pictures.  I think it's cute and funny too, or I'd just take my own pictures with the tripod when they weren't around...

The colors work for me...the white denim brightens everything up nicely.

The mixtures of brown work to my eye. A sweet androgynous outfit. Your son is a scream.

I like this combo very much. I cant believe the tee was an orphan.

I love the combo and am super glad to hear that I'm not the only one who sometimes finds forgotten treasures.  Olive and navy are delicious and I think the brown is perfect with it.  And you make the whole thing look super fresh with the light bottoms.  Actually, I wore something very like this (JCrew navy and olive sweater and white jeans) not long ago at all, so how could I not love this combo?  In fact, I think I'll wear that combo tomorrow. Look at you, Ms. Inspiration! (And super duper cute kiddo! Such a good photo "helper!")

Great jacket!  So glad you found it!  I think the olive is fine on you, particularly if you wear it with navy.  Loving white pants for fall!

How cute is your young man :) I love the tee on you Amy, great colour and looks so fab with white. The jacket looks good. Nice shape and cut I think I would keep.

First off, that son of yours is cracking me up :) Nothing new to add opinion wise - keep the tee for layering and the outfit works really well.

Looks great to me. I really like the tee semi-tucked into the white jeans. Your son is a master of props!
