WIW: Burgundy skinnies!

Burgundy skinnies have been a thrift-store HEWI of mine for more than a year, and I finally found them!  I know that skinnies are on their way out on the forum (or at least aren't fashion forward any more), but they're still considered fashion forward in my circles, and I was thrilled to find several colored pairs shopping.

Here they are, with another thrift-store find - a replacement for my cream fisherman sweater. (The collar isn't laying right in the picture, making it look stiff - sorry.  It's not stiff).

Do these work?  (The jeans are long enough, but I'm not convinced that they're playing nicely with my burgundy boots.  I was in a rush though, and couldn't find my black ones, which I would have preferred.  I'll probably change into them later, when I find them).

Yay for finding a HEWI! They look great! I like them with the burgundy boots and I'm sure black will work well too.

This color is so beautiful for you and the cream sweater is perfect with them.

Great finds! I like the burgundy skinnies paired with the similarly colored boots as they extend the leg line (not that you need that -- your legs already look quite long). I think you will find burgundy jeans to be very versatile. I have a pair and wear them A LOT -- use them a a neutral of sorts. BTW -- I think skinnies will be around for a while as they are so practical (esp. in tucked into boots in winter). Besides, you look great in them… so I say "wear often".

Great finds! I think they look great on you and love them with the cream sweater.  The boots look fine in the photo but maybe the colors aren't so complimentary in real life?

Thanks all!  I'm glad that you like them - I was so thrilled to find them!  (The sweater too - as it has plenty of length, and an open neckline - both of which I really like).

Sara - I was thinking that the tight ankles of the boots (not allowing the skinnies to tuck in) was interfering with the length of the skinnies  - not so much the colors not working together.

I just love that color as being a "colorful neutral". I think you can use the heck out of them. Navy,, cobalt, black, gray, cream, everything.

You know, they kept trying to shove bootcuts back into the closet for what, 10 years? Well, they're not going away. Women want them because they work well for so many. I think the same will be true for skinnies that aren't extreme.

    I like these!

I wear my skinnies over certain booties, so I didn't see that as a problem.

I think these look fabulous on you! They are not skintight, they almost look a bit relaxed. I agree, skinnies aren't going anywhere, anytime soon.

Great find, what other colors did you pick up?

I also got navy (maybe ink?), teal, peach and blush - $5 each!  I really had hoped to find black, but didn't.  Black skinnies are becoming a thrifting HEWI  - oddly enough.

Fab thrift finds! The skinnies look perfect on you, and I love the warm fluffy sweater with them.

These skinnies are great -- and I think skinnies that fit like this will be around for quite a while yet, so great find! I also love them with your burgundy boots; to my eye the tones work well.

What a great find. Looking forward go seeing the rest.

$5 for those pants? Wow! They look really cute and like they'll be fun to wear with winter sweaters. The neckline of that sweater is also really nice on you.

    Woohooooo. A found HEWI. Amazing.

Both items are perfect for you, Amy. Well done.

    Fave outfit! Lucky you.

Terrific outfit, Amy! And it feels so great to find a HEWI. These skinnies look like the non calf-sucking kind. To my mind, those are a great find.
