WIW: for a purge setback

Yesterday, I spent the day with one of my favorite friends, visiting nearly every GoodWill in the Omaha, Nebraska vicinity.  This was great fun, but rather bad news for my 40-bags purge.  (Or maybe great news, as I now have lots more stuff, so more purging will inevitably take place, right? right.)

Anyway, it was a terrific time, and I have lots of new-to-me clothing!  It's in the washing machine now, so today I'll show you what I wore shopping, and my current outfit (with new-to-me red suede booties).  (#1 is WIW, #2 includes the coat that I left in the car, #3 is WIW today)

Bonus pics of a few things in the dressing rooms: #4 and (5/6) stayed, #7 (white layering tee and gray skinnies), 8 (black bootcut jeans) and 9 (camo jeans) came home with me.

Suggestions for improvement on the outfits?  (The shopping pieces you'll see later, I promise :) )

So much fun! Love the shopping outfit and the suede booties. Why'd you pass on the dress, just curious? Looks like you found some good basics and some fun stuff, too.

The dress was for an imaginary life, sadly enough.  And I like my flowy skirts to be longer, and I'd already spent a ton of money (it was at the eighth and last store), etc.  Also, it seemed to be built for someone with a larger bust to hold the waist up a little higher.

I was mostly shopping for basics to replace basics or fill holes.  The suede booties were purely fun though, and I love them already :)

I'm a little worried those gray skinnies are too short.  We'll see when they come out of the wash....

Sounds like a fun time.  And now you can refresh your old wardrobe items with some new pieces.  I find my camo jeans are quite easy to remix with solids.

Amy glad you had a fun day out. Looking forward to seeing your finds. Hopefully you won't have to add to the 40 bag goal :)

Eight stores, wow! That was some serious shopping. How do your feet feel? ;)

Wow! That was a shopping expedition!  I look forward to seeing your finds.

I give you huge credit for thrifting. Better for the environment etc. I just never have the pateince for it. It really is an art!

You nailed it pil - I expected sore feet, so I wore my best on-my-feet-all-day shoes.  They're not doing too bad today in my super comfy new booties.  But I was shocked this morning that the entire rest of my body is sore too (and much more sore than my feet!).  It could be from my workout, which was a little more strenuous than usual yesterday and this morning.  But I think it's more due to the shopping marathon.

What a fun day! And you came back with some great finds. The camo pants are my fave. I have a similar pair and wear them to death. They can be a real wardrobe workhorse... and loads of fun. Wear them like a neutral, i.e. with all kinds of colors. You look so fab in red, so try the camos with anything in that shade. Looking forward to seeing you sport your new goodies.
