WIW: Ingunn Challenge - end of January

Thanks again to Ingunn for a fabulous challenge.   I'm looking forward to carrying it on in to February.  These challenges help me see how much I enjoy what I have, and minimize the urge to shop :)

And Joy - LOVE those red and blue pants!

Here's my final week outfits:

#1 Layered shirts.  I didn't expect this to work, but ended up liking it.  Then on Friday, Angie posted almost this look as an ensemble.  Does it work here?  With the draped top over a big, soft buttondown over bootcuts?  I want to wear it again, and will add pointy shoes if it's a day that I leave the house :)

#2 Umm... not sure this was in the challenge.  I was thinking of it as a statement sweater, which is one of the ones I missed in week 1, I think.

#3 Turtleneck.  I'm hoping this is at least sort of un-stuffy.  It was comfy with my long cardigan and skinnies, and I'm planning to wear it again.  This was the first wearing for this turtleneck, but won't be the last - I'd forgotten how warm they are.

#4 Borrowing from the boys.  I assumed I would wear my 7 jeans and my husband's tee for this day, but both were in the wash, so I decided to go with menswear inspired instead.  So I paired a crisp white buttondown with a vest.  I liked this pretty well too.

#5 Dress as a skirt.  I slipped a sweater over this asymmetric shirt dress (that's rather summery).  I'm not sure it worked, but it was fun to try :)

Looking forward to February challenge too!  And please share any suggestions for improvement :)

I think you nailed the challenge Amy, well done!  The dress does look a bit like a dress, given you can see it at the neck, but it still works. There is definitly a cohesiveness in your look all week, even while pulling in different elements - that's an accomplishment.

Agree with Elizabeth that you totally nailed this.  The pale blue of the turtleneck is lovely on you, and I really like the first outfit.  You could wear a crew neck sweater instead of the v-neck in #5 and cover the top of the dress completely that way if you prefer it.

First of all, your bobbed hair looks lovely. It really suits you.

You look GREAT in burgundy. #1 and #2 are my faves because the fits and proportions are spot on.

#3 would look fab with the boots you wore in #2. Great long cardi.

#4 lacks a little structure, so perhaps slimmer fit jeans, tailored footwear and rolled up sleeves. I like the diagonal stripes. Nice and different.

I enjoyed your challenges Amy, and liked how you had fun shopping your closet. Thanks for sharing. xo

#2 and #3 are huge favorites for me. And apparently YOU, since you look so happy in them!

Wasn't this challenge fun and a true challenge trying to work with what one has. My favorite of your great outfits is #1. That deep oxblood color is lovely on you. You nailed the challenge.
I had troubles with shirt over shirt and will have to try to find something more like your solution.

Love #1 and 2 on you!

#1 and #2 are really terrific on you, Amy! You did really well with this challenge. I pooped out only a few days in, I am ashamed to say. But I know exactly what you mean when you say that following along can curb any desire to shop. I have not been shopping, either, fortunately, so I at least I do not feel guilty on that score.

Great rendition of the challenge Amy. My favorite is also #1 . And I think you look lovely on #5.
You are wearing colors that complement you and the haircut looks really good on you.
The only thing I would say is that #4 looks a bit too square. maybe a more fitted vest, or skinnies as Angie suggested.
