WIW: varied silhouettes

A few less-in-my-comfort zone silhouettes over the past couple of days for me.

Today - cropped pants (with a higher-than-normal rise for me, right at my belly button) with a cropped top.  I think it might actually work?

Yesterday - pleated midi skirt with sweater - not a great success, unfortunately.

Saturday - culottes with a sweatshirt.  A new silhouette that was comfy for the weekend.  But I'm not sure it looks all that fab....

Friday - business casual in black, white and light blue.  Unfortunately, the business I visited was very warm, and I ended up with the jacket off and sleeves rolled.  I think it still looked okay.  (Everyone there was in jeans and tees)

Thursday - Slouchy sweater over white jeans.  I was cold and tossed on a scarf, which didn't end up helping the outfit any....

I'm off to run errands with my kids - I'll check back in a few hours - feel free to comment or add suggestions!

Shades of pink or blue sure look fab with your hair color! I loved outfits 1 and 4, the proportions look great. The cropped pants fit nicely and taper on the calf so that looks good to my eye. I haven't adjusted to culottes yet I'm afraid so no help there.

#1 and #4 are great. #4 would be fab with a blazer too, if you ever need more formal business wear.
#3 aren't those capris (sorry couldn't resist :))? Anyway it looks like comfy casual outfit; very put together.

#1, #3, and #4 are my favorites. I think you look fab in the floral pants, the outfit definitely works. Did you feel fab wearing it, or like it was out of your comfort zone?

The culottes outfit looks super comfortable. I have always loved culottes.

The white jacket is gorgeous, too bad you couldn't wear it all day!

#1 pants work - would try a different top without the ribbing. #2 I think I would shorten the skirt a bit if possible (still below the knee though). #3 Wouldn't call them culottes but good outfit, try rolling the hem once more. #4 my favorite of the bunch. #5 like the top and the scarf!

Forgot to add - pleated skirt maybe try with tucked top and heels?

And I wanted to write that the skirt would be better shorter but shevia already mentioned it. :)

Thanks for the feedback friends!  I think you're right, the jean "culottes" in #3 might not really be culottes.  Hmm... I like them a little less now.  Oh well :)

#4 end up prompting me to put together a business casual capsule, and I learned a lot through doing it (and realized that I have plenty of business casual options so long as I don't mind wearing black bottoms).

My thoughts have been expressed so well by Shevia. I like the pants in 1 but would like to see a different top. It may be the camera angle, but I think the skirt in 2 could be a bit shorter. 4 is my favorite. Nice jacket.

I like them all except #2 and I think you've gotten some good advice on how the short could be fixed. I think the scarf in #5 would be fine if just worn a little lower so it covered the neckline of the shirt.
