Target denim leggings?

I stopped by my local target tonight on a reconnaissance mission. I hadn't planned to buy anything, but these were on clearance

http://www.target.com/p/mossim.....A-14226361

for $8. I couldn't bear the thought of missing them, so I bought both the teal and the black. I bought 2-3 sizes up so they're not so skinny, and will take K/R pics tomorrow.

But does anyone know:
a) do they shrink when washed the first few times? (they're 98% cotton, and I'm worried that they might.. this is one of the reasons I buy used clothes - they're their actual size then...)
b) do they grow with wear? Can I expect them to bag out over the course of the day?

Also, do you see this sort of jean (tone-on-tone snake print) as still reasonably "in" next fall, or are they on their way out?

    A) cotton doesn't shrink unless you wash and dry warm
    B) cotton does stretch because it's natural fiber so it has give but the spandex gives it shape

It's like your favorite jeans get loose and then you wash so it tightens up and gets a little stiff, the longer you wear the softer it gets.

Skinnies will stay mainstream but it's fading way to other silhouettes. No doubt you'll still see skinnies on people until they stop selling them and a few years later.

I have no experience with Target's leggings but if they are anything like other high-quality cotton leggings I have they won't have the same problem as jeans. The closest comparison I can make is to a pair of Mossimo printed cropped trousers (which fit the same as a cropped skinny) They have a damask print and are made with cotton and spandex -- no shrinkage and no bagging. I hope these work out for you the print is so fun!

A few years ago I bought two pairs of Target's Mossimo "Jeggings" from their premium denim line. 99% cotton and 1% spandex. I think they were around $30 full price. They held up way better than all the designer premium pairs I've had that cost at least three times as much. I finally completely wore out the blue jean denim pair after much wear and washings and tossed them this past fall. I still have the black denim pair which are a bit faded in color but still in perfect condition otherwise. I consider these as having been a really great purchase. Also loved the higher rise and longer than normal inseams that these had.

Mine didn't shrink any more than any washed cotton because I never put them in the dryer, I hang to air dry.

Like any cotton, there was some stretching out with wearing during the day, but nothing extreme or different than other brands.

I'm assuming the other 2% is lycra which should help keep them in shape. Lycra performs best if its washed on cool settings as heat destroys the elastticity. They should probably see you through one or two more seasons as I don't think that style is going away that quick. I like the pattern, so I look forward to seeing the pics.

I had a bunch of Target leggings a few years back, they wore well and for awhile. They stretched a little during the day, but sprang right back into shape after washing.

I'm not sure about the snake pattern on other bottoms, but the pattern on these in particular are much more subtle so I think they will still be fashionable in the fall!

I bought some of the cotton skinny on sale this month too. They did not shrink at all. In fact I did and now they are my not so skinny skinny jeans.

Yes, thank you all. It sounds like if these pass the photo test they'll be a good set of pants for me!

I have the pics taken, but probably wont' get a chance to post them until this evening.
