WIW: orange, blue and red

I'm pretty sure this isn't a flattering combo, and the skirt isn't really all the comfy either (too snug in the waist).  Still, I hold on to it because the color is so vibrant :)  (And maybe I'll be thinner by the end of the summer?)

And I couldn't come up with a better shoe than red.  What do you think?  What shoes would go well with a super-bright combo like this?

Suggestions for improvement?

I love the color combo but I think the top is too long and voluminous for the skirt.  If it can't be tucked, perhaps a shorter top or t?

I like the colours too! I think this is a riff on Angie's blue shirt and pencil look. I think gold or other metallic would look good.

If the skirt is uncomfortable I'd put it away :)

Oddly enough, even with the tight waist, my happiness factor was pretty high in this - I like orange and blue together (and I spent the majority of the day barefoot).

And Thanks Una, if I hang on to the skirt, I'll try a shorter top next time.

What a shame the waistband is snug because the colour is glorious.  And I love the blue with it.  I can imagine a silver shoe with it, or the same blue or orange or even a tan.  But then if you added a white accessory a white shoe would look great too.  Too many choices!

Could you try this with a skinny belt? I like the color combo!

I do like this skirt on you but don't like that it is snug at the waist. Can it be taken out a bit? The top might be too long as Una said, but the colors are great!

Actually - this is a very 2013 combination. The colours are fab together! Can you let out the waist and Shevia suggests, Amy?

Do I remember correctly that you have a pair of silver sandals? Not that there is anything wrong with the red shoes. As long as you're wearing a top over the skirt, how about the early stages of pregnancy rubber band trick for the waistband?

Thanks all - and especially for the suggestions!  (Pil - you're on to one of my favorite secrets!).  My hubs really liked this outfit too (and I think it looks slightly better IRL than in the photos).  I do think I'll keep the skirt and either let it out or work on those five pounds....

It's cute! I think it actually look pretty good with the red shoes. I am also imagining those cool three-toned Reiker sandals Angie linked to last night...

The colors are so stunning together. Could you leave the bottom of the shirt unbuttoned and tie the ends together at or just below the waist to shorten the top until it can be tucked?

How about a nude/ tan shoe? Or maybe white.

Well Im really liking this look:)  It looks fashion forward to me and I quite like the proportions here.  If you can make the waist more comfy I think you should keep.

I like it! fresh and bright. Your neclace pulls the colours together well.

I love the color combo!! But if you have hesitations on the skirt... let it go! :-) Or you could put it in a holding zone.
